Serra Pamies Laboratories
The history of Serra Pamies Laboratories began in 1885 when the company was founded by the notable Reus pharmacist and philanthropist, Antonio Serra Pamies (Valls, 1859 – Reus, 1929).
At the outset, the company focused its activities on producing and manufacturing medicinal plant extracts. In the 1920s, it achieved the right to produce aspirin® in Spain, among other notable licences.
In 1973, the Jofré family acquired ownership and gave the company a new lease of life. The team, led by Josep María Jofré Duch (Reus, 1932-2011), faced the enormous challenges in the pharmaceutical industry at the end of the 20th century.
In 1986, new laboratories and headquarters were opened and in 2001 the group constructed a new GMP production plant, which is a pioneer in applying new, quality technologies to the production process.
In 1982, Serra Pamies began producing Pilfood® and it soon became a point of reference in the Spanish and international markets. Later, it acquired the brand and product rights to distribute it worldwide.
Today, Pilfood® continues to be a product that enjoys extensive international recognition and is a leader in Spain — one of the most competitive markets in Europe in the hair and nail care sector.
In 2005, Serra Pamies acquired the KORHISPANA, S.L. laboratories with a broad portfolio of products based on generic pharmaceutical specialties.
In 2024, the large multinational pharmaceutical Luminova Pharma Group acquires the majority of the shares of Laboratorios Serra Pamies, committing to maintaining its excellence and legacy and providing it with new business opportunities, development of new strategic projects and expansion of its portfolio.
In May 2026, Laboratorios Serra Pamies became part of NOVALIE PHARMA, a well-established and innovative company specialized in the development, marketing and distribution of pharmaceutical products and food supplements, opening a new chapter of growth and development for the company. Joining NOVALIE PHARMA strengthens our capabilities to develop pharmaceutical solutions and support our partners with the same commitment and responsiveness.
